Break The Chains

Contributed by TracyAnn489 on Sunday, 9th November 2003 @ 05:36:26 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I have to get loose.
I have to break free.
I'm dying inside,
And no one can see.

They don't see my hatred,
My anguish, my tears.
They don't hear my screams,
My torture, my fears.

I tried to make them understand.
I tried to let them in,
But all they did was laugh,
And I was criticized again.

All that I want
Is too much to ask.
That is, to rebuild my life,
And be happy at last.

I need to leave this town
That has crushed my world and broken me,
And go to the one place
Where my heart truely longs to be.

But as the time goes by,
Day after day,
I'm left holding onto hope
And constantly searching for a way.

A way to feel alive again-
A way to be the girl that I should be-
A way to break the chains
That have forever been restraining me.

I feel your pain from this place we call earth/you'll only be content when your six feet in tha dirt/i say this because i too share your thoughts/i too continue to battle even though i can't see who i just fought/is it the pressure that society has above our heads/that leave us wet and cold in your beds/continue to write what's in your heart/for i feel you, just like i stated from start
