Break

Contributed by Cora-Windover on Saturday, 8th November 2003 @ 04:09:01 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Sometimes all the words you seek
Escape upon a wind
Sometimes all the lies you speak
Are hidden deep within
Sometimes, if you listen hard
You'll hear the words she said
Or is it just a memory
That echoes in your head?

Sometimes every step you take
Puts pain upon your feet
Sometimes you can let it go,
Start running wild and free
Sometimes, if you just ignore
The memory will fade
And no more will she haunt you
Like a half-entranced parade

But every lie
Every little lie
Eats you up from deep inside
And though you try
Though you seem to try
You can't repent what you deny

Sometimes all your promises
Turn into empty air
Sometimes, though you turn away
You truly want her there
Sometimes wishing for the worst
Will keep the pain at bay
But what it you had missed a chance
To wipe the pain away?

Sometimes all your cutting words
Will cause her falling tears
Sometimes all your pleading
Will fall on empty ears
Sometimes she cannot forgive
Your doubts, your lies, her fears
But sometimes she still wants you
Through the everlasting years

And every day
Every single day
There's a chance you have to take
In every way
Every little way
You can face your love - or break.
