A Princess In Jeans

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Saturday, 8th November 2003 @ 12:38:34 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

I reach my arms up to the sky
Breathe out a blissful sigh
I close my eyes and pray out loud
That I can make you proud

I hope you look, I hope you see
I can't be anyone but me
I hope I search, I hope I find
A way to be myself and shine

Open your eyes
I won't be wearing a frilly dress
But I will be your faithful princess
Open up wide
I won't have a crown of evergreen
But I will be your radiant queen
I may not always listen very well
But I can be your loving angel

I hate the way I am with you
Wonder if you see through
The faces that I hide behind
To keep myself defined

I hope you look, I hope you see
I won't be anyone but me
I hope I search, I hope I find
A way to make myself less blind

Open your heart
Sometimes I'm still gonna push and pull
But I can be somebody special
Let down your guard
Maybe I won't ever be perfect
But I can change the things you expect
The only thing I really want is
To be the girl you fell in love with

A princess in jeans
A poetic queen
An angel who lost her wings
Special and different
Perfection for rent
The girl who was your everything

But will you see the person I will be
Or will you never get past seeing me?
