THE PATRONIZING PREROGATIVE

Contributed by Steeleyes on Friday, 7th November 2003 @ 09:09:51 AM in AEST
Topic: political

WASHINGTON (AP) 7 November 2003 -- President Bush is urging Arab countries to replace the rule of authoritarian regimes and royal families with democratic governments. But some experts wonder what the United States will do to push its new policy.

(Bush) said it would take time for democracy to spread and the United States would be 'patient and understanding.'

-o-

Watch them attempt to change your perception
Using the ugly skills of political deception

They are now in another phase
To win a POLITICAL war at home
The focus on their lies they do not like
Their lies are shown and make them moan

They must shift the focus
To pretend to be right
That it was good what they did
To slaughter and fight

'Yes, to spread democracy and other reasons
You know that’s just the political seasons
We had to do it and we found a way
And yes we SEE your sad dismay.'

'But we did the thing we wanted done
Though we broke the law to do it
Our answer now is to CHANGE THE LAW
That way WE will get through it!'

Watch them now as they speak less often
Of the imminent threat
Watch as the focus begins to change
And alter, merge and soften

They have looked at this and devised the words
To dupe us all again
These parasites and sychophants
Are such dishonest men

This is the patronizing prerogative
They see themselves as judge and jury
Executioners too
They see themselves above the law
And they're looking down on...

YOU

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
