EMPTY PILLOW

I lay in bed with my face in my pillow.
I lift my head slightly and open one eye.
I see the empty pillow with no one beside me.
There is no lover, no girlfriend, no wife.
I picture her there with my mind freely wishing.
Her gorgeous eyes open and smiling at me.
Returning her smile my body starts tingling.
There’s no where on Earth that I’d rather be.
Then I am jolted with the truth of the matter.
When I look at that pillow I will never see,
The girl that for forever I wanted to share,
The rest of her life on that pillow by me!
