Thrown upon a jagged ground
Where a woman is a fool, man a clown
And beyond the shadows of this world
You shine bright, clean, and true

Forced to see all crimes of wrong
While children are too afraid to sing their song
And beyond the torture of this world
You act kind, sweet, and true

Choked by the vines of envy’s heart
When others want to tear you apart
And beyond the hate of this world
You love completely, honestly, and true

Pushed by society’s discriminating mind
Who know of no peace worthy to find
And beyond the shallowness of this world
You accept freely, eagerly, and true

You are all I admire, love, adore
I have never known someone like you before
And beyond what the world wants you to be
You are true to yourself
