When I Look Upon My Scars

Contributed by afraid_of_fear on Wednesday, 5th November 2003 @ 05:44:23 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

When I look back, when I look upon my scars
I see everything that was, that happened, that should never have been
I see faultless, blameless pain
(But I can’t let that happen again)
I see experiences beyond belief
And now I’m leaving that place, but it’s such a relief
Yet I would never take it back
I would relive it for all the friends I’ve made
All the places I’ve stayed
For everything I’ve learned this year
I would go back and do it again
I would go back over that pain, that fear
Maybe you can relate
To all the hate
That will yet abate
But now, when I look now, look at places blood has dripped
Places I have bitten, scratched and bled
I smile that I have gotten through it
I smile for the future I have fought for,
The one gleaming ahead

I'm glad you've fought through your pain and are beginning to see the light. I don't see how this could be triggering personally I found it inspiring: a person who has been through some crap and has come out a head and on top a beautiful story. Hope to see lots more from you.
