A Stubborn Heart

Contributed by twinkletoes on Wednesday, 5th November 2003 @ 12:07:25 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My love, I hear your call
out in the lonely night
it whispers on the wind
cross the valley's yawning void
to the nest I give your love
in my stubborn heart.

Tantilizing echos of a voice
a woman's love that is true
singing on the breeze
secretly it comes to me
through a barely open window
that is the doorway, to my stubborn heart.

I hear you, I see your light
it warms me each time I turn my face
toward the flame of your lantern
that dances and lingers
on a balcony oh so narrow
that is home, in my stubborn heart.

Drifting, it reaches me
the sound of 100 angels
I strain to hear the words
that feintly float within a void
not bouncing from any hardened thing
repelled not, from my stubborn heart.

Listen to my prayer
it is wailed from every shaddow
every steeple know my heart's poor tears
they trickle cross the desert, cross the valleys
become a river that is mighty
and will tear down any stubborn heart.

Now, my love, you must hear my call
out in the lonely night
it whispers on the wind
cross the valley's yawning void
to the nest you give my love
in your stubborn heart.

My stubborn heart
it does not make a sound
it will not stir when I am gone
but as I go to a land that you are in
it will be a happy heart
and not my stubborn heart.

Well, what can one say about such a beautifully written love poem ... I hope she hears your call, although you do seem to have placed many barriers in her way ... perhaps you should not be so stubborn ... *winks* ... Jan
