I THOUGHT YOU NEEDED ME!

Contributed by Robert_Edgar_Burns on Friday, 23rd August 2002 @ 03:35:25 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I needed to be needed,
And to feel like a man again.
I needed to love my woman,
And have her tell me yes I can.

You came along in my darkest hour.
I fell in love and felt it’s power.
And in amazement I could see,
That somehow dear, you needed me.

Now once again, there’s only me.
There is no us, it’s plain to see.
For it only lived inside my mind.
I thought you mine but I was blind.

In something precious I did dream.
But your love returned was never seen.
So never again do I dare trust,
To love again since your love I lost.

You needed me or so I thought.
But look what now our love has wrought.
For never again can I happy be,
Like I new I was when you needed me.

If this is fictional, I think you were writing it for me. That's pretty damn close to how I fell. Good piece!
