Summer Days

Topic: Lifepoems

Summer is supposed to be fun
Have a blast were all young
But my summer is almost done
And so far I'm not having fun

Sure I've partied, had a blast
But one night doesn't last
Before i knew it my summer had passed
Everythings going too fast

In June we went out to BC
Beautiful, I love seeing my family
That province makes me so happy
There's so much to do and see

After two weeks though, it was bad
In the hospital to see my Dad
Everything went from happy to sad
Something no one in his family has had

Cancer..... take my breath away
After 5 weeks, I could not stay
So mom brought me home one day
And left again, she could not stay

Dad had surgery, so many times
So many tests, in so little time
Lost 50 pounds, in 4 weeks time
Too much for this head of mine

So here I am at home
I've got CC, but I'm still alone
Mom calls me everyday on the phone
And after 7 weeks, they all come home

Surgery the very next day
Chemotherapy on Friday
He comes back home again on Monday
And he's sick and b*tchy at everything we say

But even with the work and pain
We try to make it all the same
I still party, drink it all away
Although I did break down, and cry one day

So school is starting right away
Actually, in 3 weeks to the day
And I get this call saying someone passed away
Took her own life, 16, perfect hey?

Yes she's someone I've known for a while
We weren't good friends, but took my smile
Lump all these problems into a pile
Funeral on Friday, give Kris a dial

Drinkin hard core that night
Puttin everything out of sight
Though I learned alot about her that night
Miss her? I think now that i might

So school starts, two weeks I go back
Gotta get my mind back on track
Early early gotta hit the sack
Wish everything was happy, can I have my summer back???
