I reach into my dirty pocket
and scramble for change just
to get a drink
A rich man walks by nicely dressed
won't even spare me a nickel
I put my head down in shame
as he hurries off
Soon i hear many children
I stare up and there stands a not
so wealthy woman with five children
she looks at me
reaches in her purse
and hands me a 5 dollar bill
says God bless you and goes into the store

Purgatori
I absoluty loved this poem.
During this Christmas season I was in a local dollar store getting odds and ends.
I found myself short $5.00
appoligized to the clerk and proceded to take things off my tab.
Now I could afford everything, but just didn't have enough money on me.
A black lady with two boys and two girls heard what was happening and she walked over and handed me the money I needed to cover everything.I tried not to take it,but she wouldn't have it any other way.
So this is why your poem touched me so much---THANKS
