Tribute

Contributed by Schnikes13 on Monday, 3rd November 2003 @ 10:32:51 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

I saw ‘em come and I saw ‘em go
My mind’s engraved with things you’ll never know
I saw ‘em rise and I saw ‘em fall
His life went from decent to nothin’ at all

I heard it pop, heard the crowd stop
Heard everybody saying things they didn’t see
I heard him drop, heard no one top
Top his beats, his rhymes, his way to be
I ain’t gonna lie, it was a wrong thing
People give up their families, their money, and then da phone don’t ring
They be askin‘, givin‘, they be prayin’
Every night, not knowing where they stayin’
They got a talent no one can surpass
They act all hard and tough, but they got heart of glass
I don’t know what the end effect is gonna ensue
All I know is there ain’t room for two

I saw ‘em come and I saw ‘em go
My mind’s engraved with things you’ll never know
I saw ‘em rise and I saw ‘em fall
His life went from decent to nothin’ at all

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
