To those who have been conquered

The memories aren't so painful
They don't burn me quite so much
To stop and think of what we had
The empty meaningless touch
The mistakes I almost made, in your arms misunderstood
Leading me to believe that in love we could
True love a realization, only an image of you
Looking at the reflections I believed to be the truth
The lies reflected in your eyes
But blinded by belief
That true love could be conquered
Underneith a sheet

Wonderful poem. Just Wonderful. That last line just made the whole poem.
Is so true that many feel under neath the sheets will seal the deal....but I happen to know you have to have love outside, before you can go below!
