Strip away the tomes,
strip away the drawings,
strip away the pictures,
strip away the insight,
strip away the revelations,
strip away the knowledge,
strip away the taxidermy,
strip away the innards,
strip away the bones,
strip away the piecewise diagrams,
strip away the musculature,
strip away the flesh,
strip away the down,
strip away the feathers,
strip away the bullet,
strip away the trap,
strip away the decoys,
strip away the hunters,
strip away the passion,
strip away the longing,
strip away the curiosity,
strip away the pride and greed,
and admire that colorful little bird,
in all his splendor, unkillt,
for what nature intended him to be.
