THIS HOUSE OF CARDS IS FALLING

Contributed by Steeleyes on Monday, 3rd November 2003 @ 08:56:37 AM in AEST
Topic: political

What’s going down in Iraq?
The house of cards is falling
More strikes each day
And more soldiers dying
No one would listen at the time
When blood lust was high
They said “unpatriotic!”
But it wasn’t THEM to die

Now the house of cards is falling
And the senators want more troops
It’s not Vietnam yet
But that’s pretty much how it looks

In ‘Nam 50,000 had to die
Before they said enough
Now how many in Iraq
Before the going gets too tough?

The thing was wrong-headed from the start
The lies they told appalling
Now they look defeat in the face
This house of cards is falling

Very interesting perspective. Their are so many ways to look at things like this. Another way to see it is that sadam was heading down the same path that hitler did slowly taking over smaller countries untill he got the power to take over larger ones. America did what they had to to take him out of power. My brother was over there and thank god, came home alive. He believes what we are doing is right, and I have to side with him. Great Poem Though really makes you think.

Most people seem to forget about all the good stuff the united states does. If it wasnt for the united states most of the world would be really hurting right now.

Amazing work..... I really like this one.... Once again, I don't agree, but I find it a fabulous peice of writing. The comparison to the house of cards is brilliant.

Excellent,
Jelly
