MY EAGLE

Keenly and curious mine eyes do see -
Like through the eye of a needle
Envisioning the flight
of an unfettered soaring eagle
Where the limit is beyond the heavens and the stars –
A rush of the wind, a fleeting catch of a ride
Has you reaching magical wings
across a beautiful sky
Then tagged, catalogued, AND surveyed -
Restrained like an endangered mighty bird
Vanquishers who make you feel
uneasy in your true word
Bringing you lower is this weight of worry -
Unnaturally confined and contained within
Those walls that must hold you
temporarily locked-in
Long for not, to be held by anyone -
Just wait for what is meant to be...
Your soul to be tranquil
and your heart to be free
