I always stand beside you
I guide you as a beckoning light
I pray for you, and I live for you
I live within you as your light
I work with you and I help you
In your troubles I share your pain
I can sacrifice my life as your wife
I find my goal in you and for you
I build up heaven at home and
I never expect anything from you
My man, I will never allow others
To enter my life except you, since
I am bound by our marriage vows
And as an Indian woman of tradition
I stand for truth and die for honour

This is so beautifully written Kalika ... your love shines through each word ... it concerns me a little that you would sacrifice your entire life and not expect anything from him though ... but I know customs are probably different in India ... my very best wishes to you .. you sound very happy indeed ... I see loving kindness, consideration, love, goodness, all the wonderful qualities of a wonderful wife.
Also loyalty, and sacriifice...you are to be commended, and I hope he truly appreciates you for all your wonderful qualities...
A beautiful heart-touching poem.
I enjoyed it very much!

Beautiful write. Such love and such conviction is to be commended. I noticed that someone commented on your customs. To me customs are like personal opinions, of which there are many, as is religious beliefs. If this is what you honestly believe then I salute you in your honesty and respect you for standing firm in your beliefs. In todays world of confusion, it's nice to know that some hold fast to their vows and will honor them till the end of time. Thank you for reminding me and others that it is possible. I particularly like the statement...."I always stand beside you!" As long as you're both happy, then that's all that matters. Blow the opinions to the wind. Thanks for the lovely post.
