Oh the beautiful young faces in the class of '51
We thought the war was over and the battle had been won
When they gave us our diploma's Lord we thought we knew it all
So we said good-bye to Westville high and all felt 10 feet tall.
But did any of us guess, imagine or surmise
This big wide world we entered would soon cut us down to size.
To make a difference in the world I'm sure was everybody's goal
And we gave it everything we had, our heart, our mind, our soul.
With confidence we went away, to work, to school, to marriage
To get a degree, wear a uniform or push a baby carriage.
And have we made a difference, it's not for us to say
The true value of our worth will be shown on Judgement Day.
But if we've done our very best and done a few things right
We can feel as proud today as we did on graduation night.
And one more thing, dear friends, the job is not yet done
As long as we have life and breath we can show the worth of the,
CLASS OF '51
