I hate you because I can,
but love you because I can't.
Its when it says "you can't have me"...
that I want it even more.
And I can sit with you all night long,
and at that very moment you are right...
but when I wake up the next morning,
you won't be right anymore.
But I don't need anyone...
and I don't need nobody.
I don't need any proof...
and I don't need you.
I look at myself and I believe...
But I don't need anyone...
and I don't need nobody.
I don't need any proof...
and I don't need you,
please just try to understand my side.

This reminds me so much of the song "On My Own" from the musical Les Miserables. Good good show, I must say. Just the thought of wanting what you can't have, it reminds me of Eponine. That last stanza was kind of like you trying to convince yourself that you're OK. You know, the whole "I'm fine, I don't need you anyways" bit. But it never works for me. I've never actually succeeded at convincing myself..... This poem also reminds me of Helena from "A Midsummer Night's Dream". She's one of my absolute favorite Shakespearian characters. If you haven't read it you should, it's a great one.....
Anyways, lovely writing....
best wishes,
