Sun-browned toes
in white sand,
shells litter the beach,
sparkling like stars
flashes of tropical colours
splash in the cresting waves
seagulls, ever wary, circle
above, looking for snacks.
Sun-silvered wings
soar
on this golden day,
sandcastles with no
known address, bake
in the restless sky,
holding their own
against the incoming tide...
