Hidden Lives

Contributed by blackfire9786 on Sunday, 2nd November 2003 @ 03:51:40 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Everything I’ve held inside
From my family, friends, from you
I think my mind is starting to bend
My reality coming unglued.

Unwelcome tears flow down my face
I cannot make them cease
All I’ve hidden from you for so long
Is finally coming back at me

The tears I cry, the blood I bleed
Screaming for help involuntarily
You hug me, tell me it’s all ok
But you don’t know why I’m crying today.

So how the ***** can you tell me
That it will be alright
When you don’t even know what it is,
That you’re saying is fine?

One day I awoke and looked in the mirror
I realized that I was okay.
When I went to tell you how I felt
You weren’t there that day.

I went to the funeral with a heart full of shock
I saw the arrest, heard the story from some interviewed cop.
Saw your father on the news, being taken away
God why didn’t you tell me your life was this way?

I never knew the life you led
In my selfishness, never saw your pain
Never saw you had secrets of your own
And now I’ll never see you again.
