My biggest fear

Contributed by irshprnss on Saturday, 1st November 2003 @ 03:43:42 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I wonder what the world looks like
When you see it through your eyes
Staring into the unknown
That in your innocence holds no lies
Looking up to everything, too little to look down
Seeing the pain and hurt in the world
Yet unable to understand the sounds
You can focus on the news while you sit there in your swing
Still the hurt, the pain, the realization of war
Doesn't mean a thing
Holding you in my arms
Knowing I can protect you when your here
But understanding that you will grow up
And that is my biggest fear

It's interesting how we transpose our own thoughts & paranoia onto our speechless children. I wonder if a baby would think blood was pretty or if they would know something is wrong. For the thought I give this a 4 on the Nortiscale.
