My Feet are Big

Contributed by norticus on Saturday, 1st November 2003 @ 10:06:55 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

You point and laugh and even stare
I tell you all, It just ain't fair
It's not like I knew or had a choice
It's not like my parents drive a Roles Royce
I just can't help it, Can I bum a cig?
I mean I just can't help it, My feet are big.

My shoes are small and my socks are tight
They hang over the bed as I sleep at night
When I stub my toe something gets broke
I see you laughing you think it's a joke
You said I need a red nose and a funny wig
I'm not a clown just cuz my feet are big

I should move away into the forest
I bet there people would just ignore us
I should dance and sing and play all day
Just walking around barefoot and gay
Swimming underwater with my gigantic flippers
Letting my toe hair grow, Hell! forget the clippers!
I'd climb over branches and bust up the twigs
There I'd love it cuz my feet are big

That won't happen, here I'll stay
and I'll hear the mean words you say
and none of you should ever here me laugh or sing
I'll just be obsessed with your words that sting
I'll just drag my toes and mope dusk to dawn
And at night I'll come and stomp your lawn
Then I'll smile and do a little jig
Sometimes it's fun to have feet so big.

jz

This poem is better than anything that I have ever written and I mean that I would rate it as A 4.5
