painting a landscape
of all i've tried to do
would take a lifetime
that, or maybe two
promise after promise
has turned into lies
karma's retribution
for all the hidden eyes
lost front porch steps
swinging from the vines
memories and aromas
with whispers of creaking pines
grasping for a straw
before it breaks someone's back
hindsight's twenty-twenty
and that is all we lack
angry words are pumpng through
my bruised and soiled heart
all i'm ever really good at
is making brand new starts
aching for consistency
very little calms the soul
patience is a twisted virtue
leaving you not quite whole
searching for the answers
some so far away
leaving sanity's rescue
i haven't any stregth today..........

I liked it I just think I wish I knew exactly what it was about but sometimes knowing takes the fun out of it. |
