Self Destruction: Realization

Contributed by undeadsuperstar on Wednesday, 29th October 2003 @ 12:12:18 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

still i can recall awakening
from the slumber of my reason
realizing all life's vanity
for we live but just a season

as one would spring up from his bed
leaving sleep behind
i rose up from my ignorance
for i was no longer blind

emotions and reality
were both made clear to me
they are naught but dim illusions
and life is but a dream

our lives pass by so quicly
like smoke before the wind
our existances are over
as soon as they begin

truth is found in both deepened thought and sleepless dreaming. your poem makes me think as it holds truth within its depths.

Take each day like there is no tomorrow.hold on to one you hold dear
never worry about the tomorrows
first wipe away the tears.
look into the sunny skies
let the breeze fall on your face
hold the hand of one you love
and walk in tomorrow
.....i wonder why i wrote this....i just let it flow and said no more....take care.......enjoy what you have cause tomorrow may not come....thnaks for sharing your poem.........sandy

great realization and I love the poem, but is it really self destr??... I mean, this realization leads to big benefits, we can start seizing the day, never care about future, death cause it's gonna come anyway. I would say it's a great step to our humanity.... but it's only a matter of title... rest is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in response to Drzewo:
yes, this is self destruction, for it marks the beginning of a spiral that will ultimately end in destruction. This is the birth of the loss of hope that grows like a cancer into despair and finally suicide.
