I remember that day they threw the switch
The lights came on without a hitch
The Kevinator hummed, the Zenith sang
If we'd had a phone it would have rang
With happy folks up and down the line
"Can you hear the wires hummin', can you hear them whine,
Those coal oil lamps we can pack 'em away
The lights are on, Praise the Lord for the REA"
