Making Her Smile

I miss the companionship
hugging and kissing
I miss the communication
talking and listening
A few days ago,the wounds weren't so deep
My heart was not broken,
My eyes did not weep.
A new day has dawned but still I reflect
The girl that I loved, has lost my respect.
I gave her my love, and all that I had
How could I have known?
that it all would end so bad
If I could do it all over,
Knowing then what I know now
I'd like to think that I'd change things,
I just can't think of how.
But to be perfectly honest
I do not regret it,
To be even more honest,
I will never forget it.
Time heals all wounds,
but leaves scars in the brain
Hearts don't stay broken, but they're never the same
Eyes don't stay wet,
Though they'll be damp for a while
But what I miss most
Is making her smile.

That's so sweet... sad but sweet. Good write. Keep your chin up. From what I can see, you have a good heart, and someone will see and appreciate that.
