Tribute to Mama

Contributed by peg on Monday, 27th October 2003 @ 10:25:26 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Mama was a lady in a home made cotton dress
It was made from flowered feed sacks
She said they "wore" the best
She wasn't tall or slender, no make-up on her face
Her beauty shone through gentle eyes
God gave her special grace
Mama didn't ask a lot from life
Her needs were not that great
Just a warm house for her children
And food for every plate
Mama gave her kids the greatest gift
God sent it from above
She gave us everything she had
She gave us all her love
So when I think of Mama
There is only one thing I can say
Yesterday, today, forever
Every day is Mother's day.

You found your way here. Thank-You! Now everyone can appreciate your words like I do. Maybe they will understand where I got all my writing abilities! :) I know where this came from and I love how you spoke of GRANDMA that way. I love you mom! Robbie
