The Journey of My Sorrow

Contributed by Lia on Thursday, 22nd August 2002 @ 06:21:19 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Releasing itself from the core of my being
Sliding down my cheekbone with the ease of the wind
Resting slightly on my chin for just a moment
Taking the ache with it as it plummets to the ground
Falling through the air as though it were stone
Meeting the harsh payment face to face
Splashing back into the air as if to evaporate
Only to slowly lay itself back against the warm concrete
Convening now in a meeting of a puddle
Flowing galantly through the cracks
Resting peacefully at the edge of the road
Soaking into the ground like a sponge
Lapped up by roots with a thirst now quenched
Brought through the stem to the beauty above
Captured inside the belly of a bug
Released into the atmosphere once more
Pulled to the clouds by the forces unknown
Bottled inside the rain clouds that gather
And dropped once again to the earth like a stone
Collected in rivers, lakes and wells
And passed through the pipes that substain our life
Emptied into the crystal clear glass
Touched gently on my lips as it enters my flesh
As surely as I am human, the sorrow builds inside
To release this tear from the core of my being
And begin it's journey once again...

This really is a journey that we can follow - well within the boundaries of your own particular style. I have read it a number of times this evening - and went deeper into the journey each time - cooking on gas girl!
I just love to see it.
Lots of the obvious
