Among The Shadows

Contributed by rain on Saturday, 25th October 2003 @ 01:05:39 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

She hides among the shadows
As she always has.
Hides from all the world
Behind a shaded frown.

Behind her evil glares
Lies a heart so kind,
A face of beauty
Gone unnoticed by all but one.

One soul sees the jewel
Hidden among the darkness.
One soul sees
What the world passes by,
And aces to be by her side.

She sees him glance her way
Every now and then.
She thinks hes only laughing
At her ugliness.
For that is what she believes
Is all there is to her.

One day he takes a chance,
Steps among the shadows,
Grabs her by the hand and,
Pulls her into the light.

He places a smile on her face.
Erases all reason for the razor blade
She once considered her best friend
And shows her shes beautiful.

Now all the world sees
What he once saw among the shadows,
Hidden in the darkness.
Now all the world is jealous
Because all she needs
Is him.

thats sometimes all you need... is that one person or one thing to believe in you... perhaps not straight away will things be better... but that person or thing starts a string of hope that cant be broken as easily as it would've before... great write... - stacy
