So Young

Contributed by rain on Saturday, 25th October 2003 @ 12:36:58 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The nightmare seemed so real to me
When he touched me i could feel
My hair begin to stand on end.

So young,
I knew not what to do.
So young,
I didnt know to scream.
So young,
I couldnt know just what he meant for me.

My small thin body
No match to his
But how could i know
He meant me harm.

So young,
Not barely two.
So young,
Compared to you.
So young,
How could you treat me so?

He caused me pain the worst way ever
No bruises shown on my fair skin
But inside my small body bleed
One small breath was all I had
And with it I let out one cry...
"Daddy?"

So young,
Your own daughter.
So young,
How could I possibly remember.
So young,
I didnt know what to do.

Then my nightmare just would end
Like a shattered piece of glass
Like a broken memory from the past
That begged to be remembered
But who would believe me
After all I was
So young.

A truely heartbreaker poem,
Why people do sick things like that inthe first place is beyond me,
It made me sadder than I would normally feel, I would say I hope time has healed, but kmowing what the character in this poem went through I know nothing i could say could take away the pain.
