Horizontal.
Staring at the bare springs
hovering above me.
I am slowly beginning to feel the
quiet togetherness
of being awake by myself.
Filling my lungs up with air,
I convince myself that I am, indeed, alive.
I want to know that it is not all
a brilliant hoax.
And my heartbeat shakes my body.
It is suddenly so loud in here.
I think at moments like these
my terminal illness
(that kind we all suffer from)
is most apparent.
It is the source of my questions
and my anticipations.
I call it God.

Hello. olive, I think its a good poem and a unique concept of God and all the things that go on in our minds. I pray that God gives you a special blessing of joy today.
I don't believe I've read any of your work, so we can form a new friendship and share our love of poetry. Friend, Bizzy |
