The Strangeness

Here is a poem
about my way of things.
It is both a blessing
and a curse
in that a simple phrase,
whispered on a whim,
can inspire, appease,
or make whole an individual
with not one iota of effort
or “I give a damn.”,
while, at the same time,
my tongue is so saturated
with undertones and deeper meaning
that I am bound to be misread,
or misunderstood,
everywhere I go.
I love the world I live in,
the breeze on my naked toes,
the beauty in the vulgar mess
of Gaea, struggling to hold back
the mighty corporation,
in a border dispute that rivals the Koreas’.
I love anthills and nuclear weapons;
I envy the elderly, the mother who is with child,
and the snow.
And in honor of all of that,
here is a poem to inspire insight
and personal growth,
and to confuse the hell out of you.

I can really relate to this as you said. Sometimes i wonder if I made it clear enough in my work for people to understand how I felt when I wrote a particular poem.
Great Job!
