Timeless Snow

The earth lays covered in a blanket of silent soft snow,
that in small measurements falls from heaven above.
The trees and grass have gone into a silent sleep.
No green now shows on the earths floor,
only soft fresh snow with footprints here and there made by passing animals still awake in winters land.
The wind blows gently through the trees as winter birds sing sweetly.
The land it seems is fast asleep under the covers of timeless snow.
