Rejoice in a new Saint! dear troubled world!
Wide opened heaven’s portals multi-pearled,-
Sent down a star that gently kissed this earth,-
The bells rang celebrating mother‘s birth.
Albania, so small a land, take pride!
One of your daughters is beatified!
Resisting worldly charms and pleasures' lure,
She chose to serve the poorest of the poor.
She braced for greatest hardships without fear,
And made of sacrifice her great carrier;.
Her little hand reached for the highest goal,
To serve the indigents and make them hole,
Bestowing on the poor caresses sweet,
She gathered them upon the darkest street,
Beloved, revered on every continent,
A household name is hers in every land.
Lo! - Sister Agnes Bojaxjiu became
Mother Teresa when she changed her name,
Our "Universal Mother"recognized
In evey man on earth her Lord the Christ
Her love and service took away the sting
Of bitterness in grievous suffering,
Her radiant smile alone would often cure
The broken hearts of the abandoned poor.
Her words and sayings and so many a quote
Led countless men unerringly to God;
She assuaged great pain and misery,
And exercised heroic charity
The dying indigents found in her arms
A loving mother’s tenderness and warmth,
Their worth and dignity through her restored,
Dressed by her hands passed on to meet their Lord.
She sowed the precious and immortal seed,
By her example, service, word and deed,
Dear Universal Mother reconcile
And heal the wounds of nations with your smile!.
Your children are now sad for you are gone,
Yet keep the faith you leave them not alone
And pray dear mother please forget us not,
But intercede for all of us by God!

Dear Elizabeth,
Your poem was very uplifting and you really brought out the true character of blessed mother Teresa. I never really knew her name and now through you I do. You really have a beautiful gift from God and are using it well for good for the world.
We really enjoyed every word and will pray for your friend. Keep up the good work. I am sure your Stephen is smiling down on you.
Love Rose. I feel the same. Diane..
