Oh, sweet memories
You’ve gotten the best of me
Sweet memories
Take away from the pain,
Replace it and rid of the rain
Sweet memories
I remember back before I knew
Of colors bold red, white, and blue
I thought the world was beautiful
But I was only a child
I remember back before I knew
Where hatred grew
I thought the world was kind
But I was only a child
Oh, sweet memories
You’ve gotten the best of me
Sweet memories
Take away from the pain,
Replace it and rid of the rain
Sweet memories
I remember back before I knew
Of fighters that flew
I thought the world was peaceful
But I was only a child
I remember back before I knew
Of a person like you
I thought the world was busy
Too busy for me
Too busy to be
Someone I knew
Oh, sweet memories
You’ve gotten the best of me
Sweet memories
Take away from the pain,
Replace it and rid of the rain
Sweet memories
Of times before I knew the truth
Before I saw true ways
The world was full of beauty
But beauty rarely stays

This poem made me realize that I can still be considered a child... there is a lot I don't know, and I should enjoy my youth as much as possible...
Thank You |
