Buried Candles

Contributed by Saira on Monday, 20th October 2003 @ 06:51:10 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Sun died in the lap of horizon,
Gave birth to darkness.
Sorrows emerged from its womb so barren,
With all their cruelness.

Shattered dreams lacerated her eyes,
Gave crimson tears way to flow dry,
Spread their bruised wings, soared high,
In complete turmoil, into the ashen sky.

Fingers so benumbed to kindle any light,
In this another desolate moonless night.

Oh Siara, and amazing write.
I felt the sadness, the emptiness clear to the bottom of my toes.
As I was reading my heart froze, in the middle of the moonless night.
Numbed by the loss of light!
I hate darkness, so this poem was really chilly for me.Well done!
Wonderful dark poetry.
Love you dear friend,
Connie Sue

"shattered dreams lacerated her eyes..." "fingers so benumbed to kindle any light.." simply exquisite play of words; the mood kind of remind me of "wuthering heights", the same gloomy darkness seems to engulf. ---kj (Another Crab)
