From these eyes of mine

Contributed by CarrieLynn on Sunday, 19th October 2003 @ 05:46:17 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

You see me through the things you have heard,
You see me through the rumors and disrespectful words.
You see me through your eyes and your mind,
But you should see me through these eyes of mine.
I see grace and love from the ones who are close,
and I see pain wiped clean so no one knows.
I dont dwendle on what pain other hearts might see through time,
Because they should see me through these eyes of mine.
All souls have holes and not one is purely clean,
And everyone has there way that things should be seen.
But they also see with their eyes only, not mine,
Let them see me through these eyes of mine.
If only some certain few could have a look,
So they can see the dignity it took.
To not lose myself in their simple acts unkind,
And if only they could see it all through these eyes of mine.
I will not faulter I will not fall,
I will surpass the distance no matter how great or small.
My mistakes will help along the way to find,
a way to show you what i see through these eyes of mine.
No drastic measure no simple fight,
could stop me with all its might.
I have a one track state of mind,
to see that I see me through these eyes of mine.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
