A World of Poetry

There is a world of poetry, I have heard,
And from a distance seen,
Where people hang upon the poet’s every word,
Yet no longer question what we mean.
In this world of poetry, wildest dreams prevail,
Modern day conventions, patterns and routine,
Are set ablaze, and drift away with hoisted flaming sail,
While smoke and fog into one form convene.
In this world of poetry, language is rebuilt,
Every tired metaphor lays softy down to die,
In vain, empty words fruitless wilt,
Versed constellations fall from the sky.

Oh it's so true though~ How else would the poet survive if they weren't poetic and original? This made me think, I like that.

I think that last line is absolutely smashing! "Versed constellations fall from the sky". I love it! That last stanza is just too great.
Excellent job! |
