beggars

Contributed by fallensilence on Saturday, 18th October 2003 @ 10:27:50 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

the ground trembles as the tears fall into empty sheets
her heart drains into the lonely streets
and only silence lies in this city
her sobs echo infinitely

________

I know we're beggars but even we should not
feed off the bones of christ
I'll let the scars mend and lie helpless to infinity
would we be here if not for your vanity?

well we'll let the floor give in and it will take us with it

no I won't take the burden
you can handle the weight
but I'll handle the tears
I'd never let you drain yourself away

we cannot feed off of the bones of christ
or else angels would come to eat us alive

I'm pregnant with all this insanity
this is just a taste thought
I'd feed you more
but i'm afraid that you're teeth are numb

-X.
