Silent Mourning

Contributed by LovingWhispers on Saturday, 18th October 2003 @ 01:06:20 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I'm still here where you left me,by the window on this chair
I look to where we used to sleep, now only memories lie there
So silent is the afternoon,my mornings fail to shine
And in the evening's presence,I recall you in my mind

Day breaks with such sorrow,as I turn to the empty space
And In my heart I know, you're a love I cant replace
Upon the satin pillows, only remnants of your whispers
All around is solitude and I grieve with fading pictures

My time is spent alone, wandering through each breath
Mourning for our love, that dies a lonely death
Not feeling so at home here, without you,it's not the same
Remembering the taste of your lips,as they gently spoke my name

If I could stop these tears from falling,if for only but a while
Then maybe I could think of you,and remember with a smile
But the heart must take its time, when love is felt so true
You cannot rush the mourning,no matter what you do

I'm still here where you left me,by the window on this chair
I look to where we used to sleep, now only memories lie there
So silent is the afternoon,my mornings fail to shine
As I look upon the love we had,and hold this heart of mine

No matter what style you are writing...it is still absolutely amazing. Your poetry touches, amazes, inspires and captivates me. An excellent, yet sad poem, I loved this one a lot.
