DARE I ASK ?

The light dances off your earrings.
It shoots sparkles from your eyes.
Your chin resting on the palm of your hand,
Supported by an elbow on the table.
There’s a smile on your face directed at me,
With something more coming through.
A sense of grace envelops you.
Is that a halo I see?
I am awed by your presence and beauty.
Thrilled to share this moment in time with you,
As undeserving a man as ever has been.
To what do I owe such an honor?
For you are a heavenly vision to me.
Royalty at its’ best.
I am just a pauper,
Basking in your shadow.
Your hair is perfect and pinned up,
And frosted in dark beauty rare.
Your face is so soft to the back of my hands,
As I gently glide them along your chin.
The waitress asks for our order.
I know what I want, it is you!
Your sweet voice is a lullaby to my soul.
And my eyes have beheld a true vision.
As a pauper I have no right,
To dare dream of bonding with you.
But my soul cries out “Oh I need you!”
Dare I ask, “will you be one with me?”
