Forever And Always

Contributed by LovingWhispers on Tuesday, 14th October 2003 @ 06:17:12 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

The birth of day brought gentle rains
And as I listened to its rooftop dance
In my mind I strolled down memory's lane
Time held as though in trance

With closed eyes,I imagined the sea
Waves rolled into the sandy shore
It was then I knew what had to be
So I dressed and walked out the door

Jacarandas lined the streets
Their mauve petals kissed the ground
Gardens blossomed with scents so sweet
The rains fell without a sound

On I walked into the day
My destination soon in reach
Blindfolded, still I could find my way
To my safe haven,the beach

Looking up from watching leaves
There before my morning eyes
I gave thanks that still I breathe
To see such a comforting site

There in all its glory
Stood the clifftop where I'd write
This place knew my every story
My dreams,my tears,my plight

I knelt before the ocean
Looked out across the bluest blue
I remembered every emotion
That this place and I'd been through

Times when tears were falling
I would walk the lonely sands
Dreamed of a lover calling
Reaching for my hand

Moments spent with laughter
Watching kids at play
Talking to the many
Who walked by me every day

To my right I saw the cave
Where once when it was night
I curled up with my worries
And stayed until the morning light

Though I spent the night alone
Lying on a cold hard ground
By morn they had all gone
Not a worry could be found

To the point I cast my eyes
Where surfers and fisherman were at home
My heart let out a sigh
My,how the memory roams

Raindrops trickled down my face
I tasted them on my lips
Feeling the need to be unabound
I let my dress fall over my hips

Nobody but the wind
Nothing but the gentle rain
Could see my naked flesh
Or take this moment away

I stepped up to the waters edge
Traced my toes along the shore
The coolness took away my breath
My soul cried out for more

And so began my dance
To the tune of memories
When dreams of sweet romance
Made sweet love to me

The water graced my skin
And as I fell into her depths
I felt new life within
Conception of new breath

This beach has been my lover
The rains have held my tears
The clifftop like a mother
The sands,my crumbled fears
