Tell Me the Difference

Contributed by Daydreamer on Tuesday, 14th October 2003 @ 12:19:39 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I am tired of your single street ways
I am tired of you criticizing my ways
Know fair well I don’t approve of you cutting
All our conversations are like head butting
I can’t deal with your condescending ways anymore
If you don’t like my ways of sedation then please walk out the door
I want to know the difference between the knife and the line
To me there is no difference you are just like poison Ivey on the vine
I can’t take this anymore, the way you look down your nose
I guess this is just how everything goes
I want you to tell me the difference between the needle and the knife
It does the same for you the needle does for me and makes you feel alive
Don’t push me away and say I am going down a road of self destruction
I am just going through some pumpy times right now like driving over road construction
But I will pull out before you will, if you ever do
Who knows it might just be too late for you
You are taking a greater risk but that’s okay cause I cut the ties that bind us
I will let you go and I hope your wounds wont bubble up with puss
Just remember you pushed me away when you didn’t want anything more to do with me
Maybe one day you will realize you weren’t any better off then me

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
