Why

Contributed by TeenageEmoGirl on Sunday, 12th October 2003 @ 03:35:01 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Speak up now deliver your words quick
Confused by this question? How can you be
No trick
To this
Just one word
"Why?"
Why not me?
Just blind? Why can't I see?
What's to miss in this
So maybe beauty queen crowns don't adorn
My simple hair
Is that it?
Do I have to be beautiful for you to care?
Why?
Is it because I am always blue?
Well, why don't you
just try to put on a happy face
When the world around you's falling
You scream that you need help
But no one can hear you calling
Why?
I can love you like no other can
Cause I fell into this coffin months before she knew
Of you, of your smell of your taste
I watched from that coffin built for two
For two, me and you
Please just try to care
For since you took away my breath
These lungs haven't felt a gasp of air
Blood has not rushed through a vein
Never an impulse sent to my brain
No, I lie here coffined in comatose
My heart struggling to beat
But flatlines have become all too frequent
Love's become my body's defeat
For that question I die
Why?

Wow...

The rhythm of this poem is great and the coffin imagery really grabbed me, you are a very good poet :)
