The Five Little Words That Destroyed My World

Contributed by symptom_recital on Sunday, 12th October 2003 @ 02:38:57 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

You were my everything, you made me whole
You were my lifesource, the key to my soul
I was besotted. I was in Love.
But you grew tired of fighting and love wasn't enough

To save us from ourselves and our stupidity
I was blinded by Love, I couldn't see
We were falling apart before my very eyes
We couldn't forget the hurt and the lies

You said it was over, you said we were through
I couldn't accept it, I didn't believe you
You wanted to be 'friends', you were sweet and kind
I thought that in time I could change your mind

I could make you realise, make you see
How much I loved you, how we were meant to be
And so I rang you every night
Waiting for you to tell me we'd be alright

Instead I heard the words I thought i'd never hear you say
The words that caused my heart to wither and decay
The words that left my spirit crushed and sore...

'I don't love you anymore'

Dear Symptom,
Welcome to Ypdc We are so glad you joined us!
What a sad write indeed! but always remember that doesn't mean you are not loveable, and it doesn't mean that someone else can't love you!
Great Poem...very well written
