In a land far removed across the sea.
not viewed by you and me.
A young Jewish Man, started to reign
as King, in the year 1037 BCE.
His name was Solomon.
In Hebrew his name is "hard-won!"
for it also means "Peace," out-done!
This, matched with his extreme intelligence.
Not another, could even come close....
Not even one!
He was only 12 years old,
when the grave reponsibility
of King would unfold!
Over 2 Million Jews to him subject.
He must daily judge and check!
His marvelous wisdom was renowned!
Reputation world 'round!
Queen Sheba paid a formal visit.
She traveled from South West Arabia,
from the ends of the earth to see him,
demonstate his marvelous worth!
While there, she was invited to sit
as a witness in his court.
Two woman and an infant stand
facing Solomon, with their consort.
Young King Solomon has been forewarned.
But, he allowed them to speak.
The woman holding the child said,
"We both live in the same house, she & I.
I gave birth to a baby boy,
two days later a baby boy was born to her,
but her baby boy would die!"
"She sneaked into my room, while I slept.
Stole my baby boy and replaced it,
with her dead baby as she wept!
When I woke up, I saw the dead baby
next to me, and knew that it was not mine!"
Then the other woman began to plead,
"No!" she said, "The living child is mine!
and the dead baby is hers!"
The first woman once again pleads,
"No!" she screams, "The live baby is mine,
and the dead baby is hers!"
As the two woman cry and plead constantly,
Solomon may wish he could just flee!
Instead, he sends for a Sword!
When it arrives, he orders the living baby
to be cut in half!
The swordsman pleads, "But, My Lord!"
Solomon then says, "Give each Mother a half!
"No!" cries the Real Mother,
"Please, do not kill the baby, give it to this woman!"
"No!" cries the other woman,
"Don't give it to either one of us, go on
cut it in half, as fast as you can!"
Finally Solomon speaks.........
"Do Not Kill the baby, give it back
to the first woman, for I know
she is the Real Mother.
She loves her little son so much,
she is willing to give him away,
so alive he can stay!"
As Queen Sheba watched, she was astonished!
at King Solomon's stupendous wisdom!
And soon she would return to her own Kingdom.
Telling everyone there to listen to what
she had to say..............
"King Solomon is the Wisest,
Most Intelligent King to be found,
anywhere in our day!"

This very well known myth,
and this not so far away land,
is much viewed by me
As odd as this might be.
