Afterthought

Contributed by jaeann on Friday, 10th October 2003 @ 01:12:19 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

It's not as she had dreamt it,
she thought she would be dead by now,
she's living proof of time gone wrong,
making plans for five years down.
It's a thankless job, all that she does,
an uphill battle both ways,
she's learned the many lessons,
on how to hide, survive and run away.
Burdens carry such a heavy load,
high maintence days, they rue,
she'd rather nod her head and smile,
it's a best long run just to fool.
Her final chance to just feel worthy,
but only hatred shows from their eyes,
she's built her dead ends stone by stone,
with a foundation of all their lies.
Hush now, she's so very quiet,
ignore her and she'll be alright,
she'll no longer search for answers,
with them, out of mind is out of sight.
She'll no longer ask the questions,
they'll no longer look for any signs,
ignorance they say is blissful,
she'll thrive with all the lines.
Resolve does shed it's ugly skin,
preparing herself on this for years,
she knew that when she was finally loved,
all they'd bring to her were tears.
Leave her to be inside her shell,
you never really wanted to see,
all the pain that she has ever held,
who she's ultimately come to be.
She finally understands them well,
simple mouth speak for their souls,
they want her just to fix it,
hide it somehow, pretend to be whole.
Now when she can no longer be found,
only a memory in their hearts,
she'll quietly walk the path alone,
never again will hoping start.
No one to take her for all that she is,
not anyone to spare the time,
she'll hide it all inside herself,
when asked, she'll be just fine.

Dear Jaymee,
How can anyone carry a burden like that around?
If done successfully I'd be astound!
From day to day you have to give it away.....
atleast for me, that's how I survive from day to day!
Understood your poem well, Jaymee, and it was amazingly accurate, and touchingl write
Love you
ConSue
