Peace Keeper

Contributed by jaeann on Friday, 10th October 2003 @ 12:47:43 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Far off in the distance stands a fearless rogue by night.
Cruising ground in search of what he glimpsed at his last sight.
She was running throught the trees, he caught her silhouette within the light.
He reached for her, yet fumbled, glanced her eye, she stood in fright.
If he were to capture her, upon his hearth rug she would lay.
But she's deep inside the forest and cannot be coaxed out today.
He does not remember her, the same girl he once did play.
If he saw her closer still, he'd recognize he had pushed her away.
The sun does best to hide from her, only shadows cross her wall.
She'd rather be there than on his shelf, for in her cocoon she'll not fall.
Someday when he discovers her, lost inside the fortress tall.
He shall take heed to watch over her, for in his absence, far she will crawl.
