My belief

The one thing I’ve always been,
Independent in mind,
Although lacking self confidence,
Simple truths are easy to find,
Common sense has always been my friend,
But in this matter he is slowly destroying me,
The God everyone holds as fact,
I deny as truth,
I love just as another would,
And I dream of a peaceful world,
I live a moral life,
But my beliefs,
Cause my biggest downfall of all,
The ones I love can never know my true thoughts,
Only my best of friends can swallow my words,
What a lonely life it is to believe something so strong,
And have to live with it on my own.

Nice perspective. I think a lot of people can relate to how you feel. Nice to see that you can voice your emotion. Kudos.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. Â©
